Digital Strategist

Overview of the role:

The Digital Strategist demonstrates a strong understanding of digital marketing principles and dissemination vehicles and how they can be leveraged within the medical communication, medical information, and scientific publications space.

  • Reports to Sr. Director, Digital Strategy and Engagement, and works closely with Digital Team, Accounts Team, and Medical Writers to develop strategic approaches and solutions for communication and sharing scientific data and medical content.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for mapping and overseeing execution of digital tactics for a variety of clients working within the med affairs ecosystem. Able to innovate and offer creative digital solutions to meet the evolving needs of HCPs, patients, and payers.
  • Apply an understanding of medical affairs opportunities and challenges to help develop and deliver omni-channel experiences for HCPs, patients, and payors
  • Create and execute strategic and tactical plans for digital media campaigns across channels such as Paid Search, Programmatic, Paid Social and SEO
  • Provide digital research, analysis and insight generation
  • Understand, advise on, and communicate digital KPIs
  • Engage in client-facing discussions and presentations as an authority on digital strategy and research
  • Digital landscape and audience research
  • Content and data analysis and optimization
  • Stay up to date with current and emerging digital trends within and outside of the medical affairs ecosystem
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations on how to improve or expand upon digital campaigns
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and writers to translate strategic and tactical plans into digital deliverables

 

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a digital strategy role for pharma, preferably in medical affairs
  • Experience in launching social media initiatives, having worked with leading social agencies and applications (i.e. SERMO, Doximity, Twitter, Facebook, private communities)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of digital metrics and measurement/analytics reporting
  • A solid understanding of SEO strategy and optimization and social listening
  • Experience managing and mapping multi-channel campaigns and digital deliverables (including but not limited to email, display ads, press releases, podcasts, infographics, videos, etc.)
  • Able to demonstrate strong strategic thinking
  • Great client-facing and communication skills.
