Account Manager

The opportunity

This role requires a range of skills from closing sales and nurturing relationships to strategic planning and cross-functional leadership. The role is to retain top customers and nurture those key relationships over time.

 

Essential skills

  • 4-6 years in Key Accounts Management (or sales experience)
  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the client / industry to identify the best opportunities for growth and service to the client.
  • Strategic perspective - Understand the account’s strategy, market position, budget, and goals, so they can develop better offers that deliver greater value to both the client and the business.
  • Leadership - KAMs are leaders. They must be adept at directing customers and managing employees at all levels of the business.
  • Value-based selling - Long-term success depends on being able to demonstrate value to the customer.

 

Responsibilities

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams
  • Anticipate & resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
  • Strategic planning to improve client results
  • Establishing and overseeing internal budgets with the company and external budgets with the client
  • Working with sales team, creative, studio, content, marketing and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of deliverables are being produced and all client needs met in a timely manner

 

Requirements

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • In-depth understanding of company key clients and their position in the industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, sales, or relevant field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Four to five years’ previous work experience in sales, management, key account management, or relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person
  • Basic computer skills, and experience with CRM software and the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel skills.
